UBA Cameroon recruits Credit Analyst Team Leader

Job purpose :

To create high quality credit risk assets for the bank, minimize the incremental non-performing loans for the bank, improve the financial performance of the bank through the creation of profitable credit risk assets, ensure full compliance with internal and external policies and regulation and promptly respond to credit requests to meet the needs of the market place.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Recommend appropriate facilities, risk mitigants, structures, terms and conditions for the bank’s credits after appropriate analysis. 
  • Undertake independent third party risk analysis of corporate credits and make appropriate recommendations. 
  • Ensure that front line managers and customers receive quality service and quick response to their requests while at the same time keeping all such exposures and/ or credits in line with the bank’s risk appetite 
  • Ensure that all credit requests comply with the bank’s credit policy and procedure
  • Ensure that relevant credit approval procedure and processes are complied with at all times
  • Dealing with approval delays from management 
  • Planning : Macro: one year; Micro: Daily

Qualification required:

  • Minimum education level – B.Sc in a financial discipline from a reputable institution.
  • Relevant qualifications (Credit) would be an added advantage.

Experience required:

  • Minimum experience: 3 years’ experience in relationship management, credit structuring or analysis

  • Good quality credit asset portfolio
  • Minimal loan loss provision
  • Minimum turnaround time for credit processing and approval High internal and external customer satisfaction index
  • Good external credit rating
  • Compliance with internal and external policies and regulations
  • Value addition to credit requests Effective supervision/management of team members to achieve team’s goals

Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of financial accounting with ability to analyze and interpret corporate financial statements
  • Knowledge of the Credit analysis and risk assessment Knowledge of the Congolese economy and market dynamics
  • Knowledge of the bank’s policies and procedures
  • Good product knowledge
